Meet Slate & Cindy Simons

Slate and Cindy Simons took ownership of Reece Heating & Air in 2021, and have since grown the company into Middle Georgia's #1 recommended HVAC & Refrigeration provider — built on the same values of integrity, trust, and honesty they bring to every customer relationship.

The business was originally founded by Mike and Cathy Reece, who we're grateful to for getting things started here in Warner Robins over three decades ago. Since taking the reins, Slate and Cindy have grown and expanded the company considerably, building it into the full-service residential and commercial HVAC & Refrigeration company Middle Georgia relies on today.

Amy Simons

Office Administrator

Role with the company Specializing in customer support, office coordination, scheduling, and administrative operations to ensure efficient day-to-day business functions.

What they enjoy most about the job Providing administrative and operational support to keep the office running efficiently — coordinating schedules, managing customer communications, processing invoices, and organizing service records so technicians and customers stay connected. She loves working for a family-owned business.

Fun fact / hobby / family Amy loves anything outdoors and on the water, and cherishes time with her family — especially her son Drake, who’s her pride and joy, along with her nephews and niece. She’s also a die-hard Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs fan!

Elaine Atchison

Customer Service & Operations

Role with the company Elaine brings years of customer service experience to the HVAC industry and is dedicated to providing exceptional support to both our customers and our team. She plays a vital role in our day-to-day operations, helping ensure every customer receives prompt, professional, and compassionate service. As our only remote team member, Elaine stays closely connected to the office while traveling as needed for training and work.

Fun fact / hobby / family Outside of work, she enjoys anything that gets her outdoors and loves spending time with her 12 nieces and nephews. When she’s not traveling, you’ll often find her visiting her sister, Cindy, and helping wherever she’s needed.

Ashley Rodgers

Operations

Role with the company Ashley keeps our day-to-day operations running smoothly by overseeing scheduling, quotes, invoicing, marketing, accounting, and office training. She also helps mentor new office staff while ensuring every customer receives exceptional service from start to finish.

What they enjoy most about the job Ashley enjoys collaborating with the team to make each day a success and building lasting relationships with her coworkers. She also loves working with numbers and finding creative ways to combine organization with her passion for marketing.

Fun fact / hobby / family Ashley was awarded the 2026 Perry Chamber of Commerce Employee of the Month Award. She also has over 30 years of pageant experience and now enjoys coaching the next generation of competitors. Outside of Reece, she judges pageants, serves as the Social Media Manager for Miss Virginia USA, and loves spending time with her six siblings, nieces, nephews, and parents.

Shawn Padgett

General Manager

Role with the company As General Manager, Shawn leads our team while serving as a mentor, trainer, and trusted technical resource. With decades of hands-on experience as a lead technician, he helps ensure every customer receives expert service and every team member has the support to succeed.

What they enjoy most about the job Shawn enjoys providing our community with honest, high-quality service and delivering diagnostics and recommendations that customers can trust. Helping people make informed decisions is one of the most rewarding parts of his work.

Fun fact / hobby / family When he’s not at work, Shawn enjoys coaching and cheering on his 14-year-old son at baseball games. A standout baseball player himself growing up, he loves watching that same passion and dedication come to life in the next generation.

Steven Zimmer

Lead Installer

Role with the company Steven leads residential HVAC installations from start to finish, ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. He also mentors his team and helps deliver a great customer experience.

What they enjoy most about the job Steven enjoys leading his team through a successful installation and taking pride in a job well done.

Fun fact / hobby / family As the oldest installer on the team, Steven brings experience and leadership to every job. Outside of work, he enjoys gaming, fishing, and spending time with his wife of six years and their six children, ages 6 to 16.

Hunter Lane

Lead Installer

Role with the company Hunter oversees residential HVAC installations, coordinating each project from preparation to final startup. He works closely with his crew to ensure every installation is completed with quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

What they enjoy most about the job Hunter enjoys the moment a newly installed system powers on for the first time, knowing the job was completed right.

Fun fact / hobby / family Hunter is known for being able to fix just about anything. Outside of work, he enjoys working on his boat and go-carts, fishing, and spending time with his family while watching his 3-year-old daughter learn and grow.

Cayden Lafleur

Installer

Role with the company Cayden assists with residential HVAC installations, helping ensure every system is installed safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail. He works alongside the team to deliver quality workmanship and a positive customer experience.

What they enjoy most about the job Cayden enjoys learning new skills and working on a variety of HVAC systems, especially high-SEER units.

Fun fact / hobby / family As the youngest installer on the team, Cayden brings enthusiasm and a willingness to learn every day. Originally from Louisiana and from a military family, he enjoys fishing and gaming in his free time.

Alexander Stokes

Lead Technician

Role with the company As Lead Technician, Alexander specializes in residential and commercial HVAC as well as commercial refrigeration. He also helps mentor and guide our technicians and installers, ensuring every job is completed with quality and professionalism.

What they enjoy most about the job Alexander enjoys meeting new people every day, from customers to coworkers, and values the relationships he’s built throughout the industry. He also loves the challenge of diagnosing and solving complex HVAC and refrigeration issues.

Fun fact / hobby / family A 2013 trade school graduate from South Texas, Alexander enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible. Whether he’s walking his dogs, hiking, swimming, skating, riding and working on his motorcycle, or making memories with his family, he’s always up for the next adventure.

Gustavo Avalos

Technician

Role with the company Gustavo performs residential HVAC and commercial refrigeration service, maintenance, and repairs. He enjoys diagnosing issues and finding the right solutions to keep customers’ systems running efficiently.

Fun fact / hobby / family As the youngest technician on our team and a technical college graduate, Gustavo brings energy and a fresh perspective to every job. He loves traveling and exploring new places, and he comes from a big family that keeps life fun and full of adventure.

Nate Giddens

Service Technician

Role with the company Specializing in residential and commercial HVAC service, Nate provides expert diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance for heating and cooling systems. With additional experience in commercial refrigeration, he delivers dependable solutions that keep homes comfortable and businesses running smoothly.
